How we met ...
We have known each other for about 8 or so years. He first met my family through a motorbike club and has known my parents for about 12 years. I started riding myself when I was 17 and got to know him and the younger members in the bike club. We were good friends for a long time and eventually the relationship progressed (as they do!).
We became an official couple in March 2001. After living together for about 4 years we had talked about marriage and that we wanted to get hitched in Las Vegas as we both love it there.
The Proposal
On Sunday 6th April 2008 we attended his family BBQ down by the Yarra River in Melbourne. It was a beautiful sunny day, Steve spent most of his time on the phone, for which I was getting slightly annoyed. I was sitting down and his mum and him stood either side of me, giving a speech to his sister thanking her for organizing the day. During this time I noticed one of my good friends coming towards us, I didn’t think anything of it at this point. So Steve then stood me up, knelt down and gave a beautiful speech and proposed to me! He then pointed behind me. I turned and saw both my Mum and my Dad standing there (with camera, filming the WHOLE thing!). He had orchestrated the whole thing, down to the timing and everything (which explains the phone call).
I was lost for words and bawled my eyes out, (I said yes!).
We have now set a date for Thursday 20th August 2009 in Las Vegas, USA for the wedding
